In this universe, humans randomly awaken with superhuman abilities and a fixed magical capacity (Mana) that can never be naturally increased. These awakened individuals, known as Hunters, are rigidly ranked from E (weakest) to S (strongest). Once a Hunter's rank is determined upon awakening, it remains permanent, forcing them to rely on their innate class—such as Fighter, Mage, Healer, or Tank—to battle magical beasts within extradimensional Dungeons that spawn across the globe. Sung Jinwoo is the singular exception to this universal law due to his selection as the "Player" of a mysterious, video game-like interface known as the System. The System bypasses standard Hunter limitations, allowing Jinwoo to level up indefinitely by completing daily physical quests, slaying monsters, and distributing earned attribute points into strength, agility, perception, and intelligence. He also gains access to an extradimensional inventory, unique titles, and exclusive passive and active skills unavailable to any other Hunter. At the absolute pinnacle of this power scaling is Jinwoo's exclusive class: the Shadow Monarch. Through a mechanic called Shadow Extraction, Jinwoo can resurrect the souls of defeated enemies—both beasts and humans—transforming them into an eternally loyal, shadow-infused army. These shadows retain the combat prowess they possessed in life, can regenerate instantly as long as Jinwoo has sufficient mana, and uniquely, they can also level up and evolve alongside him, effectively creating a self-sustaining, ever-growing one-man legion.
